A natural stone slate driveway amongst a beautiful scenery in the Essex countryside. Major groundworks were required to complete this bespoke design. A large brickwork Flemish bond retainer wall encompasses the space with a centre island bed carefully planted, including a native feature tree to blend in with the surrounding countryside.
With each paver individually laid on a solid concrete sub structure, this project was very labour intensive but the end result made it all worthwhile. Another aspect of the design was the lighting, carefully positioned to achieve a subtle glow but also shows off all the qualities of the materials and planting.
All materials for this project were considered in some detail, the brickwork had to blend in with existing grade 1 walling around the area, the subtle slate paviours were chosen to instantly blend in with the surrounding areas, making sure not to spoil the view.
The client was extremely happy with the final finish of the project and is pleased we achieved a superior and functional end result.
