The client originally wanted to revamp the swimming pool area because they were having an extension built on to the back of the garage which would give him a kitchen area in the garden. The brief also included removing a few stables. After we revised the design a few times the garden evolved. Limitation included when we excavated for the pool area we discussed an underground spring, this had to be diverted and a pump out in place.
The team installed porcelain paving that joins up to a Millboard Composite Path and steps. Around the pool area we laid resin – this is very porous and not slippery an excellent surface around a swimming pool. The ‘HaHa’ helps to level the turf area and separates the lower part of the garden. We also laid two granite paving circles for interest around the pool and it breaks up the straight lines.
Overall this is one of the gardens we’re really proud of and we even won a Silver Merit at the APL awards 2020 .
